  • CHECK power connectivity and accessibility of hard drive
  • DO check the health of your Hard Drive before using any demo Data Recovery Software
  • EXTERNAL DRIVE should be double checked by connecting them to other systems.

  • DO NOT Panic! if you hear unusual or clicking noise, just switch off your system & call up data recovery professional.
  • DO NOT allow the maintenance engineer to experiment with your damaged drive.
  • DO NOT open your hard drive or tap it. This action may lead to physical damage of your drive leaving data irrecoverable.
  • DO NOT install demo data recovery software or copy any other data on the affected drive, this may lead to important data overwritten , leading you end up in a fix.
  • DO NOT browse internet on affected system this will save cache to the drive.
  • DO NOT swap or tamper the circuit boards , this may render the hard drive irrecoverable.
  • DO NOT defragment, or run chkdsk or any other utility for recovering data from affected drive. This may lead to loss of data.
  • DO NOT continue to plug in a clicking or non-responsive drive; by doing this, it may render the drive irrecoverable.
These are some typical sounds we hear in our data recovery lab. If your hard drive makes noises like these and you are still able to access your files – backup immediately.
